Dieting or just cutting down?
Hey guys,
Hope your weekend is going great. Well I have been inspired to try a different approach to my own way of life and my own lifestyle choices. Since I was small, I have battled with a little bit of a weight problem (not major but I know its there!).
I was watching on Youtube earlier on this week how Marlena from MakeupGeek lost over 100 pounds for her lifestyle change and thought I would try it myself (although maybe not the 100 pounds).
I’ve always had a go at the dieting, eating salads and all that but it never once helped me lose the weight I wanted to. So I’ve gone for a different approach and I feel a little better about myself. The approach I am going to be taking is cutting down step by step. So the first thing will be to cut sugar from my drinks. Now even though I’m cutting out the sugar in drinks, I do have orange juice in a morning but this is without any of the added sugars and most of my drinks during the day are purely water from the tap.
You can visit Marlena on her YouTube Channel for Makeup Geeks.
Anyway its just a quick one from me tonight
Lifestyle Review- Amazon Prime vs Netflix
Hey guys,
Sorry I haven’t posted in like a week, I’ve been really busy. Well in this blog, I have decided to review two of the main streaming websites of 2015, Netflix & Amazon Prime. Both of which I have tried for a month’s free trial.
Netflix
Well lets start with Netflix. I started this last year with a free trial for 30 days and I found it really easy to use due to its simple interface. For your free trial you have to pick between one of their three different packages, Basic, Standard & Premium. The difference between them is one of the number of screens you can watch it on at the same time. With basic you can just watch on 1 screen, Standard on 2 and Premium on 4 screens at anyone time. All their packages allow you to watch on either laptop, mobile or tablet. I used mine through my Xbox 360 and also had the standard package of 2 screens for my free trial.
When my free trial had finished, I transferred from the Standard package of £6.99 a month to the Premium package of £8.99 a month. Netflix however allow you to up or down grade anytime.
On Netflix, there is a wide selection of TV programmes ranging from American shows such as House of Cards to English documentaries such as Educating Yorkshire. However the movies on Netflix is a wide selection of older movies.
Advantages of Netflix:
- No contract- cancel on-line whenever you like.
- A number of TV shows which have been exclusively given to Netflix such as the hit drama Breaking Bad.
- Can play on 4 different screens at any one time.
Disadvantages of Netflix:
- Can be expensive if on premium £8.99 * 12 months = £107.88
- While there is a wide range of movies, variety is limited due to only a number of newer film.
- Wider selection of Movies, newer movies such as Leap Year and Divergent.
- Cheaper than Netflix over the year, £79 for year
- Unlimited One-Day Delivery (Monday-Friday)
- Wider range of series in Television Dramas.
- Once paid you have to continue with Amazon for the year.
- Some items do not have Prime delivery attached to them.
- Only can view on 2 technologies at once.
Change of Blog
Hey guys,
Well I have decided that after a few weeks of just my blog being about fashion and make-up I’m going to change my focus and take it to being more of a lifestyle blog.
As many people know I follow Football. I have done since the age of 13 when I accompanied my dad to Huddersfield Town’s match against Cambridge United in 2004. From then on I have for my sins followed Huddersfield Town and in recent years AFC Emley. This is where I will be tonight. Watching 90 minutes of football with some laughs along the way.
So with this blog my main aim is to try and help people understand a bit about me. I have never really been a full on girly girly. More a tomboy, but in the last few months I finally found my girly side. Even if that includes a cold Tuesday night trip to watch football. I do that because I enjoy it!
I just wanted to send a really big shout out to the people who keep AFC Emley floating along.
So anyway its time to get the thermals on and head out to watch the football because right now I’m loving watching Emley! I can’t wait!!
P.S also a push to my dad’s football blog. jl195480.blogspot.co.uk
